Hellinger Adrenal Gland Natural Self Help |

The adrenal glands lie curved over the top of the kidneys, they are the size of a walnut. They appear to be only one organ, but are actually two separate glands, the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla. The adrenal cortex is the outside of the gland and the medulla is the inner part. Hormones produced by the adrenal cortex are called corticoids G-C’s, M-C’s and androgens. The G-C’s have a resemblance of the thyroid in that they act on all body cells. They help control some of the most cellular functions. Their two most important functions are to enable cells to carry on normal metabolism; G-c’s also enable cells to respond to conditions of stress in ways that make the body able to resist stress. When the body is subjected to stress mentally or physically, the normal adrenal cortex begins to increase its secretion of G-C’s. The high blood concentration of gluccortisoids bring about several changes known as “stress responses.” The most important responses are: A. Tissue wasting and loss of weight. B. High blood sugar. C. Atrophy (decrease in size) of the thymus gland. D. A significant decrease in lymphocytes on the blood. E. Decreased formation of antibodies, therefore less immunity to diseases. F. Slower formation of scar tissue, and therefore slower healing of wounds. The adrenal cortex hormones are essential for maintaining life. The adrenal medulla responds very rapidly to many injurious factors by quickly increasing its secretion of hormones Epine phrine (adrenaline) and nor epinephrine which helps the body to defend itself against enemies that threaten it’s well being. If you are suddenly faced with a life threatening challenge, almost immediately the medullas glands would be galvanized into a feverish activity and secrete amounts of adrenaline into your blood. Many of your body functions become supercharged. The heart beats faster, blood pressure would rise, more blood is pumped into the skeletal muscles, your blood would contain more sugar for energy. You would be geared for strenuous activity for “FIGHT or FLIGHT”. ADRENAL GLAND EXHAUSTION After injury, such as accidents, shock, surgery, and a hiatal hernia, the body’s need for nutrients increase dramatically. The adrenal glands release large quantities of hormones resulting in the loss of body protein and prevent formation of new protein for healing. If this continues longer, for months at a time, the adrenals become exhausted from the depletion of pantothenic acids, vitamin B2, salt and potassium, which could cause partial intestinal paralysis. Bacteria in the intestines feed on stagnate food and gas begins to form. Vitamin C is depleted. A deficiency of digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid occurs. If you are experiencing anxiety or constant severe anxiety attacks, that is significant of severe adrenal gland exhaustion. You can see many health problems occur from adrenal gland exhaustion such as: problems of the heart, kidneys, bacterial infections, immune system deficiencies, thymus gland and thyroid gland; because the adrenal glands play a very important role in the immune system just as the thymus gland and the thyroid gland. These three endocrine glands all work together as a team, to provide optimum immunity. What ever affects one will also affect the other two. Medications, drugs, vaccines and chemicals are all toxic shock to the heart, liver kidneys and thyroid: which contributes to many detrimental and debilitating health problems of the body and mind. There are four Natural Self-Help procedures in my book that will help you maintain well being and good health if you have experienced any of the above.
